Android Save Places and Organizations

Overview

Use saved items to keep track of places and organizations you want to revisit in the Android app. Saved items are tied to your account and the community you are viewing.

Saved places and organizations are different from offline maps. Saving something adds it to your account. Downloading an offline map stores map tiles on your device for limited-service trips.

Save a Place

1. Open an area, trail, outing, or Point of Interest.
2. Tap the Bookmark action near the top of the place page.
3. Sign in if prompted.
4. Complete any profile or age-assurance step the app asks for.

When the place is saved, the Bookmark action changes to the saved state. Tap it again to remove the place from your saved locations.

Some cards for places also show a Bookmark action. Use that action to save or remove the place without opening the full place page.

Save an Organization

1. Open the organization page.
2. Tap the Bookmark action near the top of the organization page.
3. Sign in if prompted.
4. Complete any profile or age-assurance step the app asks for.

Tap the saved Bookmark action again to remove the organization from your saved organizations.

Organization pages can also show Subscribe to Notifications. Subscribing to notifications is separate from saving the organization. You can save an organization without subscribing to notifications, and you can change notification subscriptions separately.

Find Saved Items

1. Open your profile area.
2. Tap Saved.
3. Choose Locations or Organizations.

The Saved area also includes Maps for offline maps saved on your device.

Locations and Organizations show a saved count. If a category has no saved items, it cannot be opened until you save something in that category.

Sort and Open Saved Locations

Open Saved Locations to review places you saved in the current community. Tap a saved location to open its place page.

Use Sort by to change how saved locations are ordered:

• Your Location sorts by distance when your location is available.
• Alphabetical sorts by place name.

Distance sorting depends on Android location access and your device's current location.

Sort and Open Saved Organizations

Open Saved Organizations to review organizations you saved in the current community. Tap an organization to open its organization page.

Use View by to change how saved organizations are ordered:

• Your Location sorts by distance when your location is available.
• Alphabetical sorts by organization name.
• Verified prioritizes verified and locally relevant organizations.

Current Community

Saved lists show items for the community you are currently viewing. If you switch communities, your saved lists may look different because each community has its own available places and organizations.

If you cannot find something you saved, switch back to the community where you saved it and check the saved list again.

Troubleshooting

If saving or removing a saved item does not work:

1. Make sure you are signed in.
2. Complete any profile, age, or guardian-approval steps the app asks for.
3. Check your internet connection.
4. Confirm you are viewing the community where the place or organization is available.
5. Pull down to refresh your profile or reopen the place or organization page.
6. Update OuterSpatial from Google Play.
