Save Places and Organizations

Overview

Save places and organizations when you want to find them again quickly. Saved items are tied to your OuterSpatial account and appear in the selected community's saved area.

Saving an item is different from downloading a map for offline use. If you need offline maps, use the saved maps or offline maps tools instead.

Save a Place

  1. Open a place, such as an area, trail, outing, or point of interest.
  2. Tap the Favorite or Bookmark button near the top of the page.
  3. Sign in if prompted.

The saved state updates after the app finishes saving the place. Tap the same button again when you want to remove it from your saved places.

Save an Organization

  1. Open an organization page.
  2. Tap the Favorite or Bookmark button near the top of the page.
  3. Sign in if prompted.

After you save a place or organization, the app may ask whether you also want notifications. Notifications are optional and separate from saving the item.

View Saved Places and Organizations

On iOS, open the Me tab, choose Saved, then choose Favorites. Open Locations or Organizations to see the saved list.

On Android, open your profile, choose Saved, then open Locations or Organizations.

Saved lists only show items available in the current community. If you switch communities, the saved list changes to match that community.

Sort and Open Saved Items

Open Saved Locations to review saved places. You can sort locations when sorting controls are available. Distance sorting uses your device location; if location access is not available, the app can still show saved places alphabetically.

Open Saved Organizations to review saved organizations. Use the sorting or view controls when they are available, then tap an organization to open it.

Remove a Saved Item

Open the saved place or organization, then tap the Favorite or Bookmark button again. The item is removed from the saved list after the app finishes updating your account.

Troubleshooting

If you cannot save or find a saved item:

  1. Make sure you are signed in.
  2. Check your internet connection.
  3. Confirm you are viewing the same community where the item is available.
  4. Pull to refresh the saved list.
  5. Update OuterSpatial from the App Store or Google Play.
