Events and RSVPs

Overview

Use events in the OuterSpatial mobile app to find outdoor programs, volunteer days, guided activities, and other events published by organization partners.

Event details can include the schedule, host organization, location, cost, description, photos, related places, directions, and RSVP options when the event accepts reservations.

Find Events

You can find events from several places:

• The Upcoming Events section on your community home screen.
• A place page, when the place has related events.
• An organization page, when the organization has upcoming events.
• Search, when the event appears in the selected community.
• An event link shared by an organization or another visitor.

Tap an event card to open the event details.

Browse the Event Calendar

Tap View All from Upcoming Events to open the event calendar. The calendar shows events by date and can also show challenges for the current community or organization when they are included in the same feed.

The calendar scrolls with the list. Select a date to see events for that day; the list moves up so that day's events start at the top. Once the calendar has scrolled out of view, a calendar button in the top-left corner shows the selected date — tap it to bring the calendar back — and Show All Events in the top-right corner returns to the full list. If no events appear on the selected date, choose another date. If events could not load, check your connection and tap Try Again.

Open an Event

An event page can show:

• Event name, image, date, and time.
• Host organization.
• Location and directions, including the address, coordinates, and what3words when available.
• Website or contact links.
• Cost, when provided.
• Event description.
• Related places.

Use the share button to send or copy a link to the event. Shared links can open the event in the app when the app is installed.

Reserve a Spot

Some events include a Reserve a Spot button. Tap it to RSVP. You may need to log in before OuterSpatial can save your reservation.

After your RSVP is saved, the button changes to Your Spot is Reserved.

Cancel an RSVP

If you no longer plan to attend, open the event and cancel your reservation. Confirm the cancellation when prompted.

iOS

Tap the cancel RSVP link near the reservation button.

Android

Tap Your Spot is Reserved, then confirm that you want to delete your reservation.

Add an Event to Your Calendar

Open the event's More or Options menu and choose Add to Calendar. Your device may ask for calendar access before the event can be added.

If calendar access is denied, update calendar permissions in your device settings and try again.

Troubleshooting

If you cannot open an event, RSVP, or add the event to your calendar:

1. Check your internet connection.
2. On iOS, tap Try Again if the event page says its details are temporarily unavailable.
3. Make sure you are logged in when the event requires an RSVP.
4. Confirm the event is still upcoming and still accepting reservations.
5. Check that calendar access is allowed if you are adding the event to your device calendar.
6. Update OuterSpatial from the App Store or Google Play.

Event Status

An event can show a cancelled, fully booked, or no longer listed notice. You cannot make a new RSVP when registration is unavailable. If you already reserved a spot, you can still cancel your RSVP. Calendar-managed events may direct you to the provider’s website for registration.

Refresh an event to get its latest status. Saved or offline details may show the status from the last successful refresh.
