Android Bulletin Board

Overview

The Android Bulletin Board highlights updates and featured links pinned by organizations in the community you are viewing. Bulletin Board cards can point to articles, events, challenges, places, organizations, posts, documents, or external websites.

Bulletin Board updates are different from safety alerts and closures. For urgent conditions, closure statuses, and affected locations, see Alerts and Closures information in the Android Explore and place pages article.

Where Bulletin Board Appears

Open Home for a community to find the Bulletin Board section when that community has pinned items. Home usually shows a carousel of recent or featured cards.

Organization pages can also show a Bulletin Board section in the Info area when that organization has pinned items.

If there are no current Bulletin Board items for the community or organization, the section is hidden.

Read Bulletin Board Cards

Each card can show:

• A type label, such as Link, Article, Event, Challenge, Area, Trail, Outing, Point of Interest, Organization, or Post.
• A pinned date, such as Pinned 2 Days Ago.
• The title of the update.
• The organization that pinned it.
• An image when one is available.

Swipe the carousel to browse cards. Tap View All when it appears to open the full Bulletin Board list.

Open a Bulletin

Tap a Bulletin Board card to open it.

If the card links to OuterSpatial content, the app opens the related article, event, challenge, place, organization, or post. If the card links to a website or document, the app opens it in a web or document viewer.

Use the back button to return to the Bulletin Board or the page where you started.

View All and Refresh

Tap View All from Home to open the community Bulletin Board list. Tap View All from an organization page to open that organization's Bulletin Board list.

On the full list, pull down to refresh when you want to check for newer updates.

Why a Bulletin May Be Missing

A Bulletin Board item may not appear if:

• You are viewing a different community.
• The organization removed or replaced the pinned item.
• The item is not part of the current Home carousel set.
• Your device is offline or showing cached content.
• The linked article, event, challenge, place, organization, post, document, or website is no longer available.

Troubleshooting

If the Bulletin Board does not look right:

1. Confirm you are viewing the correct community.
2. Check your internet connection.
3. Pull down to refresh the full Bulletin Board list.
4. Reopen Home or the organization page.
5. Update OuterSpatial from Google Play.

If a card opens the wrong place or an external link no longer works, contact Visitor Success at visitors@outerspatial.com and include the community, organization, and Bulletin Board title.
