Managing Your Organization
Overview
Use Organization in Manager to keep your public organization profile accurate. The profile controls what visitors see about your organization across OuterSpatial, including your logo, description, contact details, support links, and social media links.
Open Organization Profile
Open Organization > Profile from the Manager sidebar.
The profile area includes:
- Overview.
- Contact Information.
- Social Outreach.
Organization Roles
Team members can have Admin or Staff access.
Admins can update organization profile information and manage team settings. Staff can view organization profile information, but cannot edit profile or team settings unless their permissions are changed.
Some account and licensing fields are managed by OuterSpatial staff. If a field is visible but not editable, contact OuterSpatial support for help.
Parent and Child Organizations
Manager always operates in the direct organization shown in the organization switcher. When that organization is a child organization, Manager also identifies the root organization visitors see for shared name and brand presentation. This visitor display identity does not change content ownership or grant access to the parent or another child organization.
See Parent and Child Organizations for the complete rules covering public identity, community-scoped locations and statistics, content rollup, alerts, challenges, and Manager access.
Articles, events, challenges, images, documents, paper maps, and other supported content pages include Owned and Inherited views. Inherited child content is read-only and identifies its owning organization. Switch to the directly owning child organization, with the required membership, to edit it.
Parent-owned content does not automatically appear in every child organization or community. Use related locations, event hosts or attachments, challenge task locations, alert targets, and other explicit distribution controls when content should reach a descendant scope.
Update Overview
Use Overview to update the organization logo, description, and time zone.
Admins can upload, crop, or delete the organization logo. Logo changes are saved automatically. Description and time zone changes are saved when you select Save.
OuterSpatial staff may also manage additional account fields such as organization name, slug, email domain, license plan, verification status, and membership limit.
Update Contact Information
Use Contact Information to update the public contact details for your organization:
- Email.
- Phone Number.
- Website.
- Address.
Use the address search field to find and select the location you want visitors to see.
Update Social Outreach
Use Social Outreach to add support and social media links.
Support links can include:
- Donate URL.
- Newsletter URL.
- Volunteer URL.
Social media links can include Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X, Flickr, YouTube, and Vimeo.
Enter complete URLs, including https://, so the links open correctly for visitors.
When the selected organization has child organizations, Social Outreach can also show inherited child links. These links are read-only in the parent workspace and identify the child organization that owns them.
Team Member Limit
Each OuterSpatial license includes a limit on the number of team members you can invite. If you need to add more team members than your current limit allows, contact OuterSpatial support.
