Adventure Mode

Overview

Adventure Mode helps you receive timely safety alerts and useful updates from OuterSpatial organization partners while you are visiting a supported area.

An area that supports this experience displays Adventure Mode Available on its public website page. Adventure Mode runs in OuterSpatial Mobile and cannot be started from the website.

Start Adventure Mode

1. Open the supported area in OuterSpatial Mobile.
2. Select Start in the Adventure Mode banner.
3. Allow the requested location and notification access so OuterSpatial can deliver timely updates while you are in the area.

Adventure Mode stays associated with that area until you select Stop. If you leave while it is still on, OuterSpatial reminds you so you can return to the area page and stop it.

Adventure Mode Alerts

While Adventure Mode is active, an organization that manages the area can send alerts to the visitors currently using Adventure Mode there. These messages can include safety information, closures, changing conditions, or other useful updates for your visit.

Adventure Mode alerts open the related alert and area in OuterSpatial Mobile so you can review the full details and affected location.

Location and Notification Access

OuterSpatial uses location access to determine when you are inside an area that supports Adventure Mode. Allow background location access and notifications if you want Adventure Mode to remain active and deliver timely alerts while the app is closed.

You can stop Adventure Mode at any time from its banner. You can also manage location and notification access in your device settings.
