Articles and Documents

Overview

Use Articles to read updates, guides, trip ideas, stewardship information, and other content published by OuterSpatial organization partners.

Documents are files attached to public location pages, such as maps, guides, permits, or other downloadable resources. A document appears only when the organization has attached one to that location.

Browse Articles

Open Articles to browse public articles across OuterSpatial. Community and organization pages can also include article sections that show content related to that community or organization.

When an article list has multiple pages, use the page controls at the bottom of the list to keep browsing.

Open an Article

Select an article to view its details. Article pages can include:

A banner image.
The organization that published the article.
The published date.
Article text, photos, and structured content.
Related locations.
Share options.

If an article includes related locations, use the related location cards to open the attached area, trail, outing, or Point of Interest.

Use the share button on an article page to copy or send a link. Shared article links can open the article on the website and may also open the OuterSpatial app when the app is installed.

Download Documents

Some public location pages include documents. On areas, trails, outings, and Points of Interest, documents can appear in the information panel or in the Additional Information section.

Select a document link or Download to open the file. Documents may open in a new browser tab or download directly, depending on your browser and the file type.

Articles in Communities and Organizations

Community and organization pages can show their own article lists. These lists use the same article detail pages, but they keep the browsing context tied to the community or organization you started from.
